About Anna Maria Capote

This Licensed Clinical Social Worker brings experience from foster care, crisis intervention, community-based services, and traditional psychotherapy settings. After completing undergraduate studies in psychology, they spent a year working within a social justice framework through the Jesuit Volunteer Corps, an experience that helped shape their path toward social work and a systems-based understanding of mental health.

They have worked with children, adolescents, adults, seniors, and families experiencing depression, anxiety, family conflict, difficulties with mood regulation, attention and focus concerns, and anger. Their approach considers both individual experiences and the broader family, community, and social systems that may influence emotional well-being.

Therapeutically, they integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), humanistic and client-centered approaches, and skills informed by Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). They have also received training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to support clients affected by adverse childhood experiences and trauma.

Their collaborative approach focuses on understanding the whole person while helping clients and families develop insight, practical skills, resilience, and meaningful pathways toward growth.
